I'm Joy Boyd - Independent Surrogacy Consultant, 2x Intended Parent, and someone who figured out how to navigate the independent surrogacy journey not once, but twice.

My journey to motherhood was not a straight line. After struggling for years with uterine fibroids that led to 2 separate blood transfusions, 2 open abdominal surgeries (myomectomies) that removed over 40 fibroids, severe Asherman's syndrome, and 4 additional uterine surgeries (including an emergency embolization), I had every reason to give up on my dream of having children. I felt very alone, isolated, and insecure with my infertility. Although I suffered in silence for many years, the internal noise of what felt like an unbearable inadequacy became very loud. I read fertility books, joined weekly fertility yoga sessions, received weekly acupuncture treatment with specialized herbs, practiced abdominal massaging with castor oil, meditated, cleaned up my diet, and even traveled to multiple different states to ensure I was getting treatment from the best doctors who truly specialized in treating unique cases like mine. It took me 8+ years, and multiple failed IVF attempts before I found my path to surrogacy. 

Embracing this path was a journey filled with faith, surrender, perseverance, and ultimately - joy.  After completing 2 additional egg retrieval cycles, I successfully completed the independent surrogacy journey twice, with two different gestational carriers, and documented every step along the way. What started as my own deeply personal path became a calling to help other families navigate theirs. Whatever brought YOU here, whether it was a long road or a clear choice from the start - I understand this journey deeply.

Why Me?

Completing this journey twice has afforded me extensive knowledge, understanding, empathy, appreciation, and unique experiences that I know can guide you on your journey to joy. My background in process management and systems thinking means I approach your journey the way it deserves - with structure, clarity, and a plan that takes the overwhelm out of every stage. But more than that, I bring the heart of a mother who has sat in those waiting rooms, administered those injections, and held her babies knowing every step it took to get there. I was even able to breastfeed both of my kids!

I am not an agency. I am someone who has been exactly where you are - and made it to the other side with two beautiful children and a roadmap worth sharing.
